Pushkin's "The Tale of Tsar S altan" is very consonant with the topic of hermaphroditism, which is relevant at all times. We sometimes think about what it's like to be such a person? What is the feeling when you are completely deprived of sex? And how does this affect his personal life?
First of all, it is worth understanding that hermaphrodite people are individuals who have sexual characteristics of both men and women. The name has its roots far in Greek mythology, when Hermaphrodite (the son of Hermes and Aphrodite), passionately in love, decided to unite with the nymph Salmakis together. In mythology, they are called androgynes - mythical creatures, the first people, combining both male and female principles. But this is just the mythology set forth by Plato, and in real life everything is different. After all, hermaphrodite people are completely barren. And how in our time to live, realizing that you are a person of the middle sex and cannot have children. Only one case is known when a hermaphrodite was capable of normal sexual relations. This individual had a penis of 14cm and a vagina of 8.5 cm. She also had both ovaries and testicles. She experienced menstruation and ejaculation, could live both as a man and as a woman. But this is an isolated case. Often, bisexual hermaphrodite people instead of ovaries have a mixture of testicular and ovarian tissue that cannot produce any hormones: it has no follicles and no eggs. It is not uncommon to find a combination of penis and vagina, or penis and breasts in size 4.
Most often, hermaphrodites are people whose genes contain a mutation that rewards their chosen one with both female and male genital organs. Less commonly, the culprit is heredity. Also, hermaphrodite people are born in marriages that are concluded between blood relatives. In general, less than one percent of the world's population are androgynes. Previously, it was almost impossible to identify them, as they tried to hide their belonging to the middle gender. To confirm or refute the presence of hermaphroditism in a person, it is necessary to conduct a series of tests, pass many tests, including chromosomal ones.
Many authors have addressed this difficult topic in their teachings. One of them - Eugenides Jeffrey - in his author's work "Middle Sex" clearly described the state of a person when he finds out that she is he, as well as the further life of a hermaphrodite among ordinary people. But all this happened in the 20s of the last century…
Time passes, mores change, at the moment the attitude towards hermaphrodite people is quitetolerable. But the church remains, which to this day does not perceive them as full-fledged people, believing that such a person must choose who he wants to be: a man or a woman. But this is practically impossible, despite the fact that surgical plastic surgery gives a result. All due to the fact that hermaphrodite people cannot exactly know which gender they belong to more. They will make a woman out of them, and they are more like a man - by strength, by the structure of the figure. Or, on the contrary, having become a man, they resemble a woman with the fragility of the figure and the tenderness of the face. There is and always will be a way out - to come to terms with who you are and accept it, no matter how bitter the truth.
