Varicose veins of the rectum are designated in medicine by the term "hemorrhoids". The stages of the disease change each other, and this can happen unnoticed by the patient. An increase in cavernous vessels often occurs without any special symptoms, and typical manifestations of the disease occur with the so-called risk factors - weight lifting, physical exertion, during childbirth (of course, this applies to women). All of these can lead to hemorrhoids. Stages (there are four in total) are characterized by a whole set of features.
Internal hemorrhoids
Hemorrhoids are slightly enlarged. They can be seen in the lumen of the rectum with the help of special devices, but the signs of the disease are minimal. These include mild discomfort during bowel movements, bloating, and occasional pain. Since similar symptoms are also found in other ailments, it is difficult for a person to guess that he has hemorrhoids. The initial stage (the photo can be viewed in any medical reference book) is also characterized by single bleeding from the anus. If you managed to "catch" the disease at an early stage, getting rid of it will be quite simple - with the help ofsclerotherapy. The procedure takes only a couple of minutes, is easily tolerated and does not cause the slightest discomfort: in just a week you will forget what hemorrhoids are.
Stages 2nd and 3rd
If you start the disease, over time, the discomfort will only intensify: itching and burning in the anus are increasing every day. The same applies to bleeding: they are no longer associated with bowel movements and can begin with weight lifting, increased blood pressure. In the process of visiting the restroom, hemorrhoids may fall out, so some patients at this stage have so-called psychogenic constipation. This leads to the progression of hemorrhoids. Timely infrared coagulation, ligation with latex rings, as well as a desarterization operation can help the patient. The first two procedures are done in a course, and the surgical intervention is carried out under local anesthesia and lasts about half an hour. It should be noted that the treatment is more painless, the earlier it is possible to identify hemorrhoids. Stages 3 and 4 are very difficult. To solve the problem at these stages, you will have to spend a lot of time and money. At the same time, the nodes fall out involuntarily and are not retracted. Pain torments a person constantly, itching in the anus interferes with the usual way of life. Only surgery can help - excision of nodes or stitching of the supply vessels. Otherwise, serious complications are possible.
Acute hemorrhoids
On the last, fourth, stages, the nodes do not retract, the anus gapes, the rectal mucosa is clearly visible. The tone of the sphincter is reduced to such an extent that the feces depart involuntarily, the surrounding tissues are irritated, covered with numerous erosions. Unfortunately, many patients go to the doctor only when they have completely started hemorrhoids. Stages, treatment - all this is no longer so important, only emergency surgery can help here.
