This disease is defined as a chronic inflammatory disease occurring in the pancreas. This disease most often affects adult men, but sometimes it occurs in women and even children. Pancreatitis develops due to the fact that the pancreas ceases to produce and secrete enzymes and hormones necessary for the body. Due to such a deficiency, a violation of the digestive processes occurs. The disease proceeds in two modes: exacerbations and remissions.
Causes of pathology
Most often the disease is found in people who:
- often use alcoholic products. More than 50% of men suffering from pancreatitis abused strong drinks;
- suffer from cholecystitis and dyskinesia (diseases of the biliary system). Such ailments are most characteristic of "female" pancreatitis.
- do not adhere to a balanced diet (the diet contains a lot of fatty and spicy foods);
- suffer fromhereditary predisposition (congenital metabolic disorder);
- have taken toxic drugs or antibiotics (such as tetracycline or furosemide) for a long time;
- suffer from high blood fat.
Also, this disease can develop against the background of inflammation of the gallbladder, stomach ulcers and venous congestion.
How the disease manifests
When chronic pancreatitis occurs, patients suffer from:
- Moderately pressing or burning pain in the left side that radiates to the back.
- Increased salivation, nausea, vomiting, bloating and diarrhea.
- Dramatic weight loss.
- Dry skin and brittle nails.
- Endocrine failure.
- Increased gas production.
The period of exacerbation of the disease
The patient begins to experience all the symptoms of acute pancreatitis. During this period, the patient suffers from severe girdle pain in the abdomen. At the same time, many complain of pain in the lower ribs and shoulder blades.
After 1-3 days, the pain gradually subsides and completely disappears in a week.
The main sign of an exacerbation is frequent vomiting. Also during this period, tachycardia may occur periodically, which manifests itself due to intoxication of the body.
To get rid of unpleasant symptoms (in the treatment and exacerbation of chronic pancreatitis), diet and the rejection of certain foods is recommended in the first place. The point is that in thisperiod, absolutely any irritant can lead to even more severe pain. Therefore, you need to carefully monitor your diet.
Flame Diet
During the period of acute manifestation of pancreatitis, it is necessary to provide the body (the pancreas in particular) with rest.
The first 3 days it is recommended to abstain from any food. You can drink only alkaline water (for example, Polyana Kvasova). If the patient begins to experience dizziness, then the body can be kept in good shape by internal administration of a glucose solution.
After 3 days with an exacerbation of chronic pancreatitis, the diet can be expanded to include boiled or steamed food in the diet. Eating too hot or cold dishes is prohibited. You need to eat very small meals 6 times a day. At the same time, it is better to grate all products or chew them very carefully.
On the 6-7th day of the diet with exacerbation of chronic pancreatitis, you can start drinking weak tea and rosehip broth. It is also recommended to cook mashed potatoes on the water, fish (low-fat varieties), chicken and veal. All meat is steamed. In addition, you can afford white bread crackers cooked in the oven without spices. It is allowed to include cereals (everything except millet), jelly, kefir and liquid soups in the diet.
On the 8-9th day with chronic pancreatitis during an exacerbation, the diet can be expanded by adding carrot puree and a protein omelette to the menu. However, keep in mind that milkit is not recommended to drink in its pure form. For dessert, you can make a baked apple or just grate it.
Before making a menu, it is recommended to consult a doctor.
Also, a diet in the acute stage of chronic pancreatitis may include the following foods:
- pasta;
- vegetable oil;
- vegetable soups and purees;
- egg whites;
- baked and boiled fruits (be sure to peel);
- non-sour compotes;
- freshly squeezed juice diluted in half with boiled water;
- ground dried fruits.
When the first "wave" of exacerbation subsides, you can include more hearty meals in the diet for exacerbation of chronic pancreatitis.
Chicken Potato Balls
For cooking you will need:
- Boil the chicken breast, cool it and pass through a meat grinder or blender.
- Grind 1 carrot, onion and add the resulting gruel to the chicken.
- Boil mashed potatoes. You can add just a little bit of milk.
- Roll out the mashed potatoes on the table and divide it into circles (as when preparing cookies from dough), each of which needs to be put a little minced meat.
- Make balls and put them in the freezer for 35 minutes.
- After they harden, you need to place them in a double boiler or in an oven preheated to 220 degrees. If an oven is used, the baking sheet can be greased with a little vegetable oil.
- Wait 10-15 minutes.
- Take out the baked balls and sprinkle them with herbs.
Also, during a diet with exacerbation of chronic pancreatitis in adults, you can cook a variety of side dishes. For example, on cereals.
Pearl garnish
This dish is prepared as follows:
- Pour 0.5 liters of water into pearl barley (half a glass), then cook the porridge over low heat for 45 minutes.
- Remove excess water and add a little olive oil to barley.
- Let the porridge stand for 5-7 minutes.
- Chop a medium-sized onion finely and season it with a tablespoon of vegetable oil.
- Grate the carrots, finely chop the tomato and simmer the vegetables for about 10 minutes.
- Pass barley porridge through a blender.
- Add vegetables and stir.
- Let stand for 5 minutes.
Homemade sausage
During a diet with an exacerbation of chronic pancreatitis, you can cook a very tasty snack. For this you need:
- Cut chicken breast (about 700 g) and grind it in a meat grinder.
- Add 3 proteins, s alt to taste and some greens to the minced meat.
- Pour 300 ml of sour cream into the gruel and mix everything well.
- Put the minced meat on cling film and roll up the sausage.
- Boil water in a large pot.
- Put the cooked sausage into the container and press it down with a small saucer.
- Cook over low heat for at least an hour.
- Remove the film and put the sausage in the refrigerator.
Beef with vegetables
Another dish that is recommended during the diet for exacerbation of chronic pancreatitis and cholecystitis is prepared as follows:
- Cut 500 g raw beef into small pieces.
- Add s alt to taste.
- Coat the bottom of the steam basket with vegetable oil.
- Spread the beef in a thin layer.
- Cook in a double boiler for at least an hour.
- Peel the celery and parsley roots (1 each), rinse them in cold water and cut into small pieces.
- Dip 400 g of cauliflower for 2-3 minutes in s alted water and sort it into inflorescences.
- Place all vegetables on the meat and turn on the steamer for another 40 minutes.
What not to eat during exacerbations
During the diet and treatment of exacerbation of chronic pancreatitis, you must completely abandon:
- pork, lard and lamb;
- beans, spinach, mushrooms, radishes;
- eggs;
- bananas, dates, grapes and figs;
- oily and s alty fish;
- chocolate, jam, ice cream;
- shop sausages, frankfurters, wieners;
- any baking;
- animal fat;
- smoked and fried foods;
- peas, beans, lentils;
- hard cheeses;
- white cabbage;
- pickled products;
- fat sour cream and cream;
- fast food;
- mayonnaise and any sauces;
- fatty broths;
- cocoa, carbonated drinks and coffee.
Food should not be spicy or sour. Any spices are prohibited.
Besides this, it is worth saying a few words about alcoholic beverages.
Can I drink alcohol
Since the love of strong alcoholic beverages most often causes chronic pancreatitis, they must be completely excluded from the diet. Any alcohol is toxic even to a he althy stomach. If a person suffers from pancreatitis, then alcohol in any quantity will be rejected by the organs of the gastrointestinal tract. The fact is that, unlike the liver, there are no enzymes in the gastrointestinal tract that can break down alcoholic products.
If a person suffering from chronic pancreatitis drinks a lot of alcohol and spices it up with a large portion of fried snacks, then they are very likely to have an acute attack of the disease. So it's not worth the risk. It is better to completely exclude even low-alcohol drinks.
It is worth considering that after an exacerbation of chronic pancreatitis, the diet does not stop, but lasts for at least another 1 year. This time is necessary for the digestive system to recover and begin to function normally. Therefore, you need to exclude any load on the stomach.
If the patient neglects the doctor's recommendations, then such attacks of exacerbation will begin to repeat with enviable frequency. Therefore, it is better to buy a steamer,try to cook only wholesome food and completely eliminate all the foods that were listed above.
