In this article I will tell you about flatulence: what it is, what it happens from, and how to deal with it. This is a rather annoying problem for most people - constant discomfort, complexes and unpleasant disorders of the gastrointestinal tract. More on this later.
Meteorism - what is it?
Definition
In simple terms, flatulence is bloating caused by accumulations of intestinal gases. Here we can talk about the manifestation of the so-called lower dyspepsia.
Clinical picture
When flatulence occurs, increased gas formation (frequent farting) in the intestinal loops. Scientifically, this is called fluctuation. Along with this, a rumbling occurs in the stomach and, in fact, the process of evacuation of gases through the anus, accompanied by a certain sound (usually crackling) and a fetid odor. Here it is - this insidious flatulence!
Is it a misunderstanding or a disease?
This is a double-edged sword. If we understand this problem in more detail, then bloating and flatulence can be symptoms of anydiseases directly related to the gastrointestinal tract. That is why I advise you to see a doctor! There is another side of the "medal": flatulence can be triggered by the use of a particular food. More on that later.
Foods that cause flatulence
So what food makes us fart quite often?
- Very strong gas formation is provoked by all types of cabbage, legumes, raw onions, milk products, milk itself, radish, turnip and swede.
- Moderate farts are caused by foods such as bananas, mushrooms, raisins, soda, apples, kvass, pears, carrots, bread and pastries.
- Slight farting can be caused by various vegetable oils, potatoes, fish and poultry, meat, rice.
Other causes of flatulence
What else is this, besides an excess of certain gas-forming foods taken in food? Let's find out now!
- Snack on the go.
- Abuse of chewing gum and smoking. In this case, you are swallowing too much air.
- Disturbed intestinal microflora.
- Some diseases of the gastrointestinal tract: pancreatitis, colitis, irritable bowel syndrome and others.
How to cure flatulence?
First, you need to stop randomly using certain products. The following are the wrong combinations that lead to frequent farts:
- sweets and juices - combined with starchy, protein and s alty foods;
- milk-based products - combined with meat, fish, sour fruits and bread;
- drinking food with carbonated drinks;
- combination of legumes and black bread.
Secondly, you need to adjust your diet. Below is an example diagram:
-
eliminate dairy products;
- do not indulge in artificial sweeteners;
- forget about carbonated drinks, especially sweet ones (like Coca-Cola);
- follow a regular protein diet for a month, while limiting the use of foods that cause frequent gas.
Thirdly, you can use folk recipes to remove accumulated gases. Below are some of them:
- drink an infusion of three cloves of garlic twice a week;
- add ginger to taste in cooked dishes;
- drink herbal teas with mint, chamomile, parsley, dill, lemon balm and rosemary;
- you can take activated charcoal before bedtime;
- buy defoamers at the pharmacy, such as Espumizan.
