Our eyes are greatly affected throughout the day. But they get rest only during sleep. This is fundamentally wrong, because sleep does not relieve them of tension to the end. That's what eye exercises are for. Such training is effective for both myopia and hyperopia. What is the use?
Benefits of eye exercise
Before you understand what you can get by doing such exercises, you need to understand how the eye works and what functions it has. So let's figure it out.
What is an eye?
The eye is a very mobile organ and often not every equipment is suitable for tracking its movement. And all because our eyes are constantly moving, thanks to which they provide the ability to see. This happens due to the main six muscles. But there are those among them that are not taken into account (those that focus vision, dilate or constrict pupils, and so on). We know that any muscle needs to be trained and kept in good shape. For this andthere are visual exercises that not only train the eyes, but also allow them to rest and avoid impaired functioning.
Gymnastics for vision improves the blood supply to the eye, relieves fatigue, stress and at the same time helps to maintain and improve he alth.
A must for the eyes
Although at first glance it seems that the eyes are an eternal battery, but it is not. They are no less than the rest of the human organs need special classes. When the eye muscles are not trained, vision can deteriorate, and after it, working capacity, learning ability, nervousness and quarrelsomeness increase.
Because of the lack of exercise for vision, not only does it worsen, but other problems also arise. The saddest thing is that people rarely think about it, especially those who work with their heads and spend their time constantly at the computer. Although they are the ones who risk their eyesight the most.
For most people, the exercises to improve vision come down to sitting with your eyes closed. The benefits of such unloading are rather ephemeral.
Types of exercises
Workouts also have different tasks. For example, there are exercises to improve vision, and there are techniques that teach how to relax or improve eye performance. But basically, all the complexes are aimed at maintaining their he alth and improving the quality of the picture.
In addition to training, you can do short-term exercises. It consists, most often, of five exercises and does not require more than ten minutes. Chargingit is recommended to do it without getting out of bed and throughout the day, when you have a free minute. How many times a day to do gymnastics depends on the nature of the work and the comfort of the workplace. When it is well lit, but the volume of work is large, it is recommended to take a break every hour for fifteen minutes. If working conditions leave much to be desired, and the amount of work with the computer is large, then it is necessary to interrupt every half an hour, or even twenty minutes.
Lighting and eyes
Everyone knows from childhood that one should not read in the dark, especially under a blanket with a flashlight. But not everyone obeyed their parents, and as a result, more than half of the world's population has vision problems.
For the human eye, natural light is more favorable, but not bright sunlight. The latter strains the eye a lot, which is equivalent to working without light at all. But a soft fluorescent lamp or natural light through the tulle is the most comfortable environment for the eyes. But all these recommendations relate to working at a computer.
To interact with printed text, conditions are diametrically opposed. In this case, the more light, the better. But bright sunlight is also discouraged.
Our eyes are most adversely affected by fluorescent lighting, which is very popular in offices. The eyes get tired very quickly and here, more than ever, rest every twenty minutes and exercises to restore vision will come in handy.
Who shows gymnastics
Every person should take care of their vision, respectively, exercises to restore vision will be useful to everyone. But you need to remember that before you start gymnastics, you need to choose the right one, because for each specific case it has its own.
For example, when vision deteriorates due to a heavy load, you need to choose a set of exercises for vision that will relax and restore eye function. If such a complex is performed without interruptions, then the chances of removing points are quite large. Such gymnastics cannot be considered a panacea, but it will help improve the situation as one of the components of treatment.
Vision exercises for nearsightedness and farsightedness can be very effective.
What is myopia?
Myopia is another name for myopia. This is a visual impairment in which the patient clearly distinguishes objects near, but what is in the distance is seen blurry. There is a practice of eliminating this disease with the help of therapeutic exercises.
What is farsightedness?
The scientific name for this disease is hypermetropia. Here, the opposite is true, and the patient clearly distinguishes objects in the distance, but cannot see everything that is close. In order to read something or see in detail, he has to move the object at a distance of thirty centimeters. Exercises for vision with farsightedness will have their therapeutic effect only if performed regularly.
What can gymnastics fix?
To diseases that can be corrected withexercises include astigmatism, visual disturbances caused by fatigue and stress, and strabismus.
Who shouldn't do gymnastics
It would seem that the obvious benefit is not absolute. There are times when such training can be harmful. For example, when they are performed earlier than necessary after eye surgery.
Retinal detachment is also a contraindication for exercise. The fact is that any activity provokes an increase in blood circulation, which is very dangerous in this case.
Inflammatory processes in the eyes are also a contraindication to increased activity. All infections are spread through the blood, and when the blood circulation is stimulated, they affect an increasing area.
Increased intraocular pressure is another argument against training.
Myopia above six diopters automatically limits large loads. But in this case, there is an option to adjust the set of exercises.
Of course, before starting any action, it is necessary to undergo an examination and consult a doctor.
Eye exercises
There are universal complexes for eye training, and there are those that are aimed at solving a specific problem. Consider a variant of exercises that will help improve eye function without serious problems.
Exercise to improve vision
Such gymnastics will bring the greatest benefit to those whose work is connected with computers, and are also perfectthese eye exercises for kids. By the way, there is no need to do all the exercises. You can choose only a few, but the benefit will still be. Several types of exercises:
- Massaging movements. The eyes are closed, the eyelids (lower and upper) are massaged with fingertips. On the upper eyelid move to the outer corner of the eye, and on the lower, on the contrary, to the inner.
- Pressing movements. The eyes are closed, the connected index and middle fingers are placed on the eyelids. Press lightly on the eyelid for a couple of seconds, and then release. Repeat five or six times.
- Squinting. Everyone played hide and seek in childhood, so doing the exercise will not be a problem. First they take a sitting position, and then close their eyes tightly for five seconds. Then they open their eyes and give rest to the eyelids. Repeat it up to eight times. This vision correction exercise works by toning the eye muscles and increasing blood circulation.
- Blink. There is nothing easier than this exercise. It only takes a minute in a sitting position to blink quickly. For the effect, you need to keep your head straight all the time.
- Change of focus. This exercise is performed both sitting and standing. First, they look at an object that is far away, then they look a little closer and look at the nail of the index finger. Look at him for at least five seconds. The distance from the finger to the nose should not be less than thirty centimeters. Repeat the exercise ten times.
- Take turns taking a pencil or a pen into the hand and placing it at the same distance as the finger in the previous exercise. at the tippencil or pen focus for six seconds. After a while, they close their left eye with their hand, and look at a pencil or pen with their right, after a while they change the eye. The exercises are repeated five times and end with two open eyes.
- Eye tracking. With a half-bent arm with an outstretched index finger in the air, draw a circle. Eyes do not tear off the finger while he draws. Repeat at least ten times.
- Exercise for visual acuity is performed in almost the same way as the previous one. The difference lies in the direction of movement (not from side to side, but from top to bottom).
- Cross traffic. Exercises are performed while sitting and first look at the ceiling, then at the floor, to the right and to the left. When performing cross-gazes, it is better to sometimes change the order, then the efficiency will increase. Repeat the exercise at least ten times.
- The index finger is raised at a distance of at least fifty centimeters from the eyes. They draw a circle in the air and follow the finger with their eyes. First draw clockwise, and then against. You need to do five circles.
- Circular movements. The essence of the exercise is the same as the previous one, only it is performed without hands, but due to rotation of the eyes. After repeating the required number of times, the eyelids are closed and rotated already under the closed eyelids.
- Cross eye movements. They are performed this time with lowered eyelids at least six times. Head held straight.
- Fixation. In a sitting position, focus on an object that is far away for six seconds. Then they start looking atthe tip of your nose for the same six seconds. Repeat the exercise seven times.
- This exercise is performed in a standing position. The legs are placed shoulder-width apart, first they lower their heads and look at the right foot, then they raise their heads and focus on the upper left corner of the room. So change the feet and angles with each repetition of the exercise.
If you do all these visual exercises regularly, you can prevent the development of myopia or hypermetropia, as well as improve the quality of vision and relieve eye fatigue.
