White stepping stone (otherwise "Adam's root") is a herbaceous perennial plant that combines many useful microelements in its composition, for which it has become widespread in folk medicine.
Tinctures and decoctions based on it are used not only to relieve the symptoms of the disease, but also to eliminate its causes. In medicinal compositions, the roots, leaves, stems, flowers, fruits of the plant are most often used.

White stepping stone, belonging to the pumpkin family, is characterized by a thin stem and very long (up to 3.5 meters), clinging shoots. The root is thick, fleshy, looks like a radish fruit, is characterized by a white color. The leaves are long (about 10 cm), located on long petioles, alternately, they are 5- and 7-lobed plates with a deep heart-shaped base. In leaf axilsspirally twisted tendrils are placed, with the help of which the white step clings to supports and neighboring plants. The flowers are female and male type, yellowish green and pale yellow respectively.
Fruits are small, black berries with ovoid seeds. Flowering occurs in June-September, fruit ripening occurs in July-September.
Under natural conditions, the white step, the use of which is widely demanded by traditional medicine, grows in river valleys, ravines, thickets of shrubs and on river edges. Near settlements, the plant can be found near abandoned buildings and hedges. For medicinal purposes, it is mostly used in Transcaucasia, where it has its own local name - "Caucasian ginseng".
