In the human ear there are many glands that secrete sulfur. Earwax has protective functions. It moisturizes the ear canal, cleanses it of dead cells, lubricates it, prevents it from drying out, and protects from the harmful effects of the external environment.
Clog in the ear: symptoms of its presence
In addition to the sulfur glands, there are also sebaceous glands in the ear. Sometimes, for some reason, they begin to intensively produce a secret that mixes with sulfur, water and dust. This forms a plug in the ear. Symptoms confirming its presence are: slight deafness, pain or feeling of congestion in the ear, dizziness, headache, cough. The plug can be seen if the ear is pulled back and the inside of the ear is looked at.
Clog in the ears: how to remove the wax plug?
If the density of the cork is low, you can get rid of it by softening it with any vegetable or vaseline oil. Warm oil should be instilled in the ears twice a day, five drops for 4-5 days. Instead of oil, you can use a solution of soda, hydrogen peroxide orglycerol. Immediately after instillation, hearing will noticeably worsen, as sulfur plugs will swell, but over time, self-cleaning of the ear may occur, they themselves will disappear. Five days later, when the cork has become soft, you need to drip one of these solutions on the sore ear and plug it with cotton. In this case, it is necessary to drip in the supine position with the sore ear up. The ear at this time must be pulled back behind the upper part of the auricle so that the ear canal straightens. Then, using a syringe with a capacity of 200 ml, wash the cork from the ear with warm water and drip it with boric alcohol. You can also get rid of the sulfur plug with the help of warm heating: lie on a heating pad or a bottle of warm water, the sulfur will soften and flow out of the ear itself. Some solvents can also help wash sulfur: Auro or Debrone, Murain and Drons, which dissolve it. Remove the sulfur plug from the ear, if it is hard and dense, only a doctor can use washing with special tools. It is very dangerous to try to remove the cork yourself!
Causes of ear plugs
Incorrect care can lead to the fact that a plug in the ear will appear, the symptoms of which will tell you about its presence. You can not remove the wax in the ear, penetrating deep into it, as this can injure the hearing aid and move the wax to the eardrum, where it is compacted, and from where it can no longer be pulled out at home. The formation of wax plugs can lead to the use of a hearing aid, excess hair in the external auditory canal, high density of earwax, ingress of dust and water into the ear canal, etc. Do not often poke around in your ears with a cotton swab. It is enough to clean them no more than three times a month, and not deep. It is enough to remove the sulfur with a finger with a clean bandage wrapped around it.
Self-cleaning ear canal
The skin of the hearing aid, like the nails on the hands and feet, is constantly growing, and the movement of their growth is directed from the eardrum outward. Therefore, they can self-cleanse, and after four months everything unnecessary will come out of there, what is there: a foreign body or a cork in the ear. Symptoms of their exit are the resumption of hearing and the disappearance of pain and congestion. The movements of some facial joints when talking, coughing, chewing contribute to the self-cleaning of the hearing aid. Even if a foreign body gets into the ear, then thanks to the wonderful natural protective properties of the skin of the ear canal, it can be pushed out on its own, only this will take about four months.
