In medicine, a wen on the arm or elsewhere is called a lipoma. This is a formation consisting of adipose tissue. Lipoma often affects not only the skin, but also other tissues (mainly connective). Wen on the arm, the causes of which have not yet been clarified, can be of different density depending on the depth of the location and its type.

Lipoma looks like a rounded formation under the skin, it is elastic or motionless, soft. A lipoma does not cause any pain to a person.
On palpation of the neoplasm, the lobation of the wen is sometimes determined. However, external signs are very subjective, and to clarify the diagnosis, it is necessary to examine the wen on the arm using ultrasound. If the doctor deems it appropriate, the tumor is removed using the method of endoscopic technology.
Types of lipomas
There are such types of wen:
- ring-shaped;
- encapsulated;
- painful (multiple);
- tree-like (inside the joint);
- diffuse (no shell);
- pedunculated lipomas;
- cavernous (angiolipomas riddled with vessels);
- soft;
- fibrous(dense consistency);
- petrified (calcified);
- ossified (with bone tissue inside);
- dense (with overgrowth of connective tissue).

Lipoma does not pose a danger to humans, as it refers to benign tumors. Official medicine treats lipomas by introducing a special drug into the neoplasm for its resorption and surgical intervention under general and local anesthesia. The first method is preferable if the wen on the hand is small (up to 3 cm). The medicine is injected into it with a thin needle. The effectiveness of this treatment method is 80%, and the result will be noticeable only after a couple of months. If the size of the tumor is large, the patient is prescribed a surgical operation. Small lipomas are removed under local anesthesia, and large lipomas are removed under general anesthesia, after which the patient remains in the hospital for another 2 days. Postoperative observation lasts 2 weeks.
Folk ways
Wen on the hand is often cured by folk remedies:
- Chicken compress. Films from domestic eggs are superimposed on the lipoma, after which redness and swelling may appear. Films need to be changed several times to achieve the desired effect.
- Golden mustache is an effective tool. A fresh leaf of a golden mustache is cut off, kneaded and applied to a wen, covering it with plastic wrap and cotton on top.with a cloth folded 2 times, and then fix the compress with a plaster or bandage. After 12 hours, a new sheet is used. The entire course of treatment is about 12 days.
- Cinnamon is a reliable remedy against wen. Treatment is continued until complete healing. Eat 1.5 tablespoons of cinnamon daily (small portions throughout the day).
- Asterisk balm can help too. Sometimes a wen on the arm is cured if it is lubricated with this remedy until the lipoma is opened. After that, with careful pressure, the contents should be removed, but not immediately, but within three days. In no case should neoplasms be squeezed out on the face.
