If you get a runny nose, then you should not immediately run to the pharmacy and choose expensive drugs there. This article contains the most popular folk remedies for the common cold, and not only traditional domestic ones, but also foreign ones.

Foot bath

This procedure is very popular in Northern Europe. Water is poured into the container, the temperature of which is thirty-seven degrees, and then hot water is gradually added until the legs can withstand the temperature. This improves the blood supply to the nasal mucosa. Our domestic addition to such a procedure is a few tablespoons of dry mustard in water. And the beneficial effect will be much more noticeable!

S alt with lemon

What helps with the common cold is also known in Romania. Squeeze half a lemon and dilute the juice with a teaspoon of s alt and fifty grams of water. Take the resulting mixture into a pipette and drip into the nose. The treatment is quite extreme and unpleasant, but they can cure a cold in no time. But be very careful: mucus from the nose with active blowing has the ability to get into the auditory tube, and this is a surepath to acute otitis media.

Fuck

There are native German remedies for the common cold. The most popular of them looks like this: grind horseradish with sugar and an apple, and then consume the resulting mixture, one tablespoon several times a day. Horseradish contains substances that destroy harmful bacteria and viruses. At the same time, unlike onion or garlic, it is positively perceived by the body, without destroying the bacteria of the intestinal flora.

Herbal treatment

The North American Indians also had their own remedies for the common cold. They used the sapling plant. It contains elements that can activate the forces of the immune system. You can buy a plant in a pharmacy. The recipe is as follows: pour a couple of teaspoons of grass with half a liter of chilled boiled water and leave for four hours. Take one hundred milliliters ten minutes before meals three to four times a day.

All these remedies for the common cold are widely used abroad, but completely different methods are popular here.

Soap

Oddly enough, few people know about this most simple, it would seem, tool. Take ordinary laundry soap, moisten your finger, lather it, and then carefully lubricate the nasal cavity with it - the deeper, the better. You need to repeat the procedure three times a day.

Kerosene

Everyone probably knows about the benefits of mustard in the treatment of the common cold, but few people know that kerosene has a similar effect! Naturally, do not drink itnecessary. Before going to bed, grease their feet with them, and also attach a rag soaked in kerosene to them, and put on woolen socks. You will feel much better in the morning.

Dimedrol

This remedy will cure you in just two days! Take a quarter of the tablet, crush it and add a little water to make a viscous, fairly thick slurry. After that, blow your nose well, and then lubricate the nasal cavity with a mixture of Dimedrol and water. It will sting a lot, so keep baby cream ready and put it on your nose if necessary, otherwise it will irritate.

There is another way associated with Dimedrol. Add one ampoule of this substance and two tablets of "Furacilin" to two hundred grams of water. Take this solution into a pipette and drip the application as often as possible. Unlike the first remedy, this option is painless, moreover, it is quite easy. But you need to do the procedures quite often - initially every fifteen minutes, gradually increasing the interval between doses. You will feel better after three days.

A runny nose is not such a terrible disease, but, nevertheless, it is better to consult a good doctor, because a stuffy nose can signal very serious problems in the body, which are not limited to a banal cold. And be careful with self-medication!
