As mentioned above, the corpus luteum during pregnancy plays a huge role: it secretes progesterone, which is necessary for the normal development of the embryo in the first 2 trimesters, loosens the epithelial lining of the uterus for the introduction of a fertilized egg into it, and prevents the formation of new follicles and the result of their work - menstruation. If changes are found, pregnancy with a corpus luteum cyst may spontaneously terminate.
This may be due to the fact that the yellow gland can not secrete enough of the hormone progesterone necessary for the development of the placenta. The cyst is diagnosed by ultrasound, and when it is detected, the doctor must observe changes in the woman's body for 3-4 months, since there is a chance that the neoplasm may disappear, on the basis of which, pregnancy with a corpus luteum cyst will not lead to sad results. If a favorable outcome is not expected, modern medications or mini-operations can come to the rescue, which will not cause any harm to either the woman or her unborn child.
Thus, we can safely say that pregnancy with a corpus luteum cyst is possible, but only under the constant supervision of the attending physician, since the lack of control can lead to serious consequences.
