The vast majority go to the doctor only when the nature of the disease has become serious and threatens with oncology.
Varieties of mastopathy
There are severalvarieties of this disease:
- Localized fibroadenomatosis of the mammary gland. This disease is characterized by the presence of seals grouped in certain places.

Localized fibroadenomatosis of the breast Diffuse fibroadenomatosis of the mammary glands. Treatment depends on the degree of the disease: fibrous manifestation or fibrocystic. In any case, the seals do not have clear boundaries and are not connected to the tissues. They are quite mobile.
- Mastalgia. A kind of "phantom" disease. There is pain and on palpation it intensifies, but there are no seals that can cause it. Very often, mastalgia is confused with premenstrual gland tension, which is quite natural for the second half of the cycle. But sometimes this can be the first sign of the development of such an ailment as breast fibroadenomatosis. What is it: a disease or a symptom of approaching menstruation? To accurately answer, you need to undergo a mammogram and consult a doctor. If any manifestations of the disease are detected, it is better to play it safe and get treated, because these benign diseases can provoke cancer in the future! Women with concomitant breast diseases are automatically at risk of oncology.
Types of formations
The breast of a woman consists of several layers, each of which has its own characteristics. Depending on the location of the seal (in fibrous tissue or gland), two types of nodular formations are distinguished:
- Fibroadenomas. They are characterized by clear boundaries, which is well felt on palpation. The nodules have a fairly elastic consistency and respond with severe localized pain. They are mature (require surgical removal) and immature (they pass without a trace after puberty).
- Adenomas. They appear during puberty and are similar in symptoms to an immature form of mastopathy. This manifestation is subject to treatment in the form of a sectoral resection.
There is also another type of manifestation of such an ailment as breast fibroadenomatosis. What it is? Usually it's a cyst. It has different forms, but is always a neoplasm that occurs in the ducts or alveoli, and looks like a smooth-walled chamber filled with brown fluid.
