"Malachite green" is a drug used to treat aquarium fish. With it, you will save your pets from ringworm, fin rot, invasive diseases that can be caused by protozoan parasites.
The drug "Malachite Green" is used only for adult fish of the following species: swordtails, guppies, mollies, platies, gourami, playferi, barbs, heteroclitus, nannostomus arapirangsky, heteromorphs, veiltails and shubunkins. Treatment of aquarium fish of other species, especially those that do not have scales, must be carried out with other drugs. Or reduce the dose at least twice.
The drug is sold in vials of 50 ml. The content of the active substance is 10 mg. One bottle is designed for 100 liters of water. From this it follows that for each liter you will need to take 5 ml of solution. It is convenient to measure with a cap from a bottle that contains just such a volume.
Before you start treatment, sick fish must be separated from he althy ones and deposited in another aquarium. SoThus, only quarantined fish are processed. The procedure is carried out four times a day with a break of five hours. The first two days, the solutions are prepared at the rate of 5 ml of the drug per 2 liters of water. In the following, third and fourth days, the solution is prepared somewhat differently: 1.5 lira of water is taken per 5 ml of the drug. It should be noted that every day it is necessary to make a new solution. In order for malachite greens not to harm the fish, it is necessary to create appropriate conditions in the container. Aeration should be provided, water temperature + 24-25º С.
If the treatment of fish is carried out in a common aquarium, then the product "Malachite Green" should be used in conjunction with copper sulfate, in a ratio of 5ml: 5 drops. This amount is enough for 10 liters of water. The finished preparation, the amount of which is calculated for the volume of water in the aquarium, must be diluted with fresh water up to 250 ml. To do this, the water must be allowed to settle for a day.
When the water with the solution is ready, it is divided into three equal parts and poured into the aquarium with an interval of 30 minutes. In this case, you need to slowly mix the water. Under no circumstances should the entire solution be poured into the water. This can lead to fish poisoning.
During the treatment and processing of the aquarium, you should monitor the temperature of the water. It should be no more than 28º C. In addition, you need to get a biofilter, which can significantly reduce the concentration of the drug in the water.
The above doses of the medicinal solution are added to the waterevery 7 days. The processing can take up to a month or more. During this time, most likely, there will be a need for water replacement and cleaning. In this case, after completing this procedure, the concentration of the solution must be restored.
It is worth noting that the "Malachite Green" is a stable dye. The color of the water can be preserved for a long time. In order to speed up the purification of water after treatment, activated carbon biofilters are used. They are able to quickly make the water in the aquarium clear and clean.
