Sinusitis is a very serious disease in both treatment and symptoms. It is generally accepted that the disease is infectious in nature and develops when the mucous membrane of the respiratory tract is affected by streptococci or staphylococci, causing inflammation and decay of the maxillary sinuses.

However, very often classical treatment with antibiotics, surgical punctures, immunomodulators does not bring the final result. The disease only recedes for a while, and then its symptoms return again, and for the sufferer everything starts all over again. Therefore, sometimes it is necessary to consider sinusitis from the point of view of psychosomatics.

First symptoms

Unfortunately, it is impossible to determine immediately that sinusitis has begun. The first manifestations of the disease are characteristic of a number of colds:

  • headache;
  • general lethargy and malaise;
  • temperature increase;
  • runny nose.

Usually the therapist prescribesa referral to an otolaryngologist when nasal discharge does not go away for more than a month, while patients complain of a pressure sensation above the eyebrows and under the eyes, headache and weakness.

Directly smeared contents can be transparent and free from unpleasant odors. In this case, doctors recommend visiting not only the ENT, but also the allergist.

Varieties of sinusitis

There are three types of inflammation of the maxillary sinuses:

  • spicy;
  • allergic;
  • chronic.

Acute disease

The acute form of the disease is distinguished by the presence of signs that cannot be ignored:

  • severe pain in the face and head, radiating to the ears or teeth;
  • tearfulness, bad reaction to bright light;
  • spontaneous discharge from the nose, especially when the head is tilted down, purulent secretions of gray, yellow, green, sometimes with seals;
  • frequent chills;
  • congestion and loss of smell.

Chronic form is a dormant state of illness. With such a course, sinusitis worsens only seasonally or with a cold face, regular exposure to drafts, and the like. The most inconspicuous clinical situation for this disease, which is usually mistaken for puffy ears, just SARS or bad teeth.

The allergic variety is characterized by a constant runny nose with clear discharge, a feeling of irritation and dryness in the nose, itchy eyes and sneezing.

Sinusitis, psychosomatics:reasons

Typical origins of this complex disease include:

  • congenital or acquired anomalies, such as curvature of the nasal septum;
  • transferred infectious and viral diseases;
  • nasal polyps;
  • external factors favoring allergies;
  • fungal infections.

Standard treatments

If the cause lies in one of these factors, then one of the accepted methods of treatment will cope with the disease:

  • medicines;
  • rinsing;
  • surgery.

In the event of a relapse or a general lack of results, the roots of the disease should be sought in the emotional state of the patient. It is necessary to carefully analyze sinusitis. Psychosomatics here, most likely, plays an important role.

Psychosomatics of sinusitis

The popular saying that all diseases are caused by nerves is often confirmed. Having excluded fungal infections and other objective reasons, including possible allergens, for the appearance of regular inflammation of the maxillary sinuses, one should pay attention to the state of the nervous system and psyche. There is such a thing as the psychosomatics of diseases, sinusitis often occurs precisely for psychological reasons.

There are certain factors that cause sinusitis:

  • frequent or prolonged stress;
  • depression;
  • a state of disappointment;
  • anxiety;
  • totaldepressed;
  • feeling unclaimed and unfulfilled;
  • constant anger coupled with self-pity;
  • chronic emotional fatigue;
  • the need to prove something to others.

The list of emotional complications goes on. There are infinitely many reasons for tears and worries, and, having no way out, being held back for a long time inside, they will inevitably lead to illness. And since psychosomatics began to work, sinusitis from an acute form will soon turn into a chronic one. It's only a matter of time.

What is the manifestation of psychosomatics? Sinusitis is directly related to unshed tears, no matter how paradoxical it may sound. The thing is that with artificially restrained crying, the paranasal sinuses are not cleared. On the contrary, the moisture and mucus produced in the same sinuses remains. Because the person deliberately did not cry. An extremely favorable soil is formed for the growth and activity of bacteria. This is psychosomatics, as a result of which sinusitis appears, and neither medicines, nor washings and punctures can cope with it.

Sinusitis in children

Separately, it is necessary to highlight the reasons for the occurrence of inflammation of the adenoids and, of course, the maxillary sinuses in children. Unlike adults, growing organisms are much stronger in terms of immunity, tolerate diseases more easily and recover faster.

However, constant sniffling is not uncommon. Before you start dragging your baby around doctor's offices and endless procedures or stuffing a baby's noseall kinds of drops, it is worth considering whether everything is fine with the child emotionally. The psychosomatics of sinusitis in children practically does not differ from that of an adult.

The psychosomatic causes of sinusitis include two seemingly opposite factors:

  • lack of love, attention, approval, support and care from adults;
  • overabundance of adoration, overprotection, excessive attention, obsessive care.

In the first version, the child feels unnecessary, superfluous. If excessive severity and exactingness are added to the lack of attention felt by the baby, then the child does not just realize that he is lonely, he is forced to constantly meet the expectations of adults and justify their vision of himself. This is a terrible stress that gives rise to constant internally retained tears and, accordingly, leads to sinusitis.

With the second type of adult behavior, the baby suffers from the inability to express himself, to do at least something on his own. As a rule, this begins with the inability to get dirty in infancy, fall on the playground, later get a deuce at school, as parents will take all measures so that their child is not given this mark. Such excessive love leads to emotional distress, a feeling of being locked away from the world in a cage, and, of course, to the same unshed crying, which develops into sinusitis.

sinusitis from the point of view of psychosomatics

Sinusitis in the modern world, full of stress, difficulties, resentment and disappointment, is becoming more common. The best prevention forthis is peace, spiritual comfort, harmony with oneself and the world around, kindness and positive emotions. Despite the fact that it is quite difficult, all the efforts made will justify themselves, and along with resentment, anger, grief, sinusitis will also leave life.
