Treatment of ears with boric acid

Therefore, before instilling boric acid into the ear, it is necessary that the doctor exclude the onset of otitis media or internal.

It may include ear cleaningusing hydrogen peroxide and subsequent instillation with boric alcohol. Often, a specialist also prescribes some kind of anti-inflammatory drug in the form of drops.
How to instill boric acid in the ear?
In order for the procedure to be effective, it must be carried out strictly according to the rules. Pour a full pipette of peroxide into the ear canal beforehand (it should be warm). After the peroxide is removed, instill a solution of boric acid into the ear in a warm form, three to four drops. The tool should be in the auricle for about ten minutes. Then sharply tilt your head to the side from which the ear was dripped.
After drying the ear canal from the remnants of boric acid, insert a cotton swab into the auricle to prevent infection or cold air from getting inside. Such treatment is carried out from three days to one week (depending on the severity of the lesion). Repeat the procedure four times a day.
Contraindications
Like any pharmaceutical product, boric acid has its contraindications. The period of its use is limited - it is not recommended to instill boric acid in the ear for more than seven days. Children are generally prescribed it extremely rarely. After prolonged use, there may be such side reactions: nausea, vomiting, headachespain, convulsions, impaired kidney function, even shock. Therefore, this remedy is never prescribed during pregnancy and lactation, persons with chronic kidney disease and infants.
