It is normal for a person to participate in the lives of their own kind, concern for the interests of loved ones, sincere regret about bad deeds. But there is a category of people for whom all these qualities are not something important and obligatory. An experienced Western psychiatrist would diagnose such people as "sociopathy". It's a personality disorder, not a behavioral disorder, so treating it is difficult, though possible.

How is sociopathy diagnosed? Its symptoms are very vague, you can not look for them in yourself - sociopaths do not recognize their behavior as problematic and do not look for solutions to their difficulties. It is easier and more natural for them to shift responsibility to others. The disorder manifests itself for the first time at an average of 15 years. It is manifested by the fact that a teenager defiantly does not take into account the needs of others, shows physical or psychological violence towards weaker people or animals, remorse for wrong deeds inpatients superficially and for show. Moreover, not all sociopaths are gloomy and gloomy personalities - there is also a category with developed communication skills. These people use their charm for selfish purposes. Not surprisingly, there are many people suffering from this disorder in places not so remote.

Sociopathy is self-control in a “flickering” mode, that is, a person can pull himself together for some time to achieve his goals and show remarkable strong-willed qualities. But for a long time forces are not enough. That's why alcoholics and drug addicts break out so often - most of them are sociopaths. By the way, in the West, a new term is now used for these people - antisocial personality disorder, and not sociopathy. It's basically the same thing. Similar to replacing the term "manic-depressive psychosis" with "bipolar affective disorder." Rebranding that does not change the essence, just with a more politically correct sound.

Sociopathy is a disorder in which the violation of the law internally by a person is considered something quite normal. For a person suffering from a disorder, the main thing is not to be caught, although not everyone succeeds, as it is difficult for them to control impulses and “turn on” self-control in time. The "charming" category fails to mislead people for a long time for the same reason. Sooner or later they give themselves away (usually sooner) and run into problems. Like people of a hysterical warehouse,Sociopaths have to change social circles frequently because people start to treat them badly pretty quickly after a few "antics".

Treatment of sociopathy is possible, although it is quite difficult to convince the patient of his trouble. Only sometimes, after a long struggle with drug addiction or alcoholism, such people agree to psychiatric help. There is no cure for this disorder, although antidepressants may be used for some of the patients. Treatment consists of group therapy and individual analysis of the possibilities of adaptation and restoration of broken relationships. But almost always you have to work together with relatives. Such people really need support, although it is difficult for them to admit it.
