Among the diseases that interfere with normal pregnancy, there is hydrosalpinx, located on the right or left. Unfortunately, this is a fairly common disease, and it affects the genitals of a woman. Its main manifestation is the accumulation of a clear or yellowish liquid in the fallopian tubes. In the normal state, such a liquid is also produced by the woman's body, but it is promptly excreted through the walls of the pipes.
Why does it occur?
The main cause of this disease, doctors unanimously call inflammatory processes, in particular adnexitis, salpingoophoritis, salpingitis. It is they that contribute to the death of the villi, functional disorders of the muscular part, as well as the growth of connective tissue, which in turn leads to the formation of adhesions, scarring and obstruction of the tubes. Transudate (fluid) cannot be normally excreted, and therefore pours into the uterine cavity. The greatest threat is left-handed or right-handedhydrosalpinx occurs in women who are planning a child (after all, the desired child is incredibly difficult to conceive) and already pregnant, since the disease negatively affects the development of the fetus and practically excludes natural childbirth.
Varieties
According to the activity and duration of the inflammatory process, two forms of the course of the disease are distinguished:
- Acute (characterized by fever, tachycardia, weakness).
- Chronic. It usually has no clear symptoms, as the fluid accumulates over a long period.
Depending on the location, it is customary to distinguish between hydrosalpinx on the right and on the left. The state of the fallopian tube allows you to establish a simple form (when there is one cavity) and follicular (when the lumen is divided into several cavities). As a rule, when diagnosing, doctors indicate what size the hydrosalpinx has on the right (left).
Symptoms
As mentioned above, the disease may not manifest itself in any way at all, or it may present itself with symptoms such as:
- high temperature (from 37 °C to 39 °C);
- weakness;
- pelvic and groin pain;
- palpitations;
- blush;
- water discharge (but only in the so-called "valve" form).
Diagnosis
Only an experienced doctor can immediately detect hydrosalpinx. The diagnosis can be finally established after a series of studies.
So, first of all, a standard gynecological examination is carried out, during which education can be suspected. The patient is then sent for an ultrasound. Modern devices make it possible to detect this disease quickly enough. Hydrosalpinx on the right or left can be diagnosed using hysterosalpingography (i.e. X-ray) or laparoscopy (a procedure that involves inserting special instruments into the uterus for examination).
Treatment
The most effective way to overcome hydrosalpinx on the right or left is surgery. In this case, it is called laparoscopy. In general, this procedure is tolerated by patients quite easily. You can do without surgery, but only when the disease is not running. In this case, all efforts should be directed to overcoming the inflammatory process (in this regard, antibiotic therapy and physiotherapy are prescribed), as well as to improving the functioning of the immune system (for this purpose, the patient also undergoes vitamin therapy and phytotherapy).
