Every person at least once in his life faced with an inflammatory purulent skin lesion. It could be a boil, a pimple, a boil or an abscess.

Vishnevsky's ointment
In order to draw out pus, Vishnevsky's ointment has been widely used since the days of the USSR. Its active substances are xeroform (antiseptic), birch tar (activates local metabolism and blood microcirculation) and castor oil (improves absorption of the ointment).
For the treatment of purulent skin lesions, Balsamic Liniment should be applied in a thin layer on a gauze napkin or a piece of bandage and applied toinflamed focus. Such applications need to be updated three times during the day. Very soon, the abscess will open, and then the wound will need to be treated with hydrogen peroxide to clear it.
You can achieve faster results if you use antibiotics in parallel with "Liniment balsamic" (another name for Vishnevsky's ointment). After the abscess is opened and cleaned, you need to use drying agents, such as tea tree oil.
Balsamic Liniment can be used not only to draw out pus, the ointment is effective for burns, bedsores, trophic ulcers, arteritis.
Ichthyol ointment
Another ointment that draws pus out of a pimple is Ichthyol. It quickly anesthetizes and disinfects the site of inflammation. This drug is especially effective before the maturation of the abscess, but can be used at any stage of the pathological process.
Applications with ichthyol ointment are performed as follows: the drug must be applied to a small piece of bandage, applied to the inflamed area and secured with a plaster. Renew the bandage after 3 hours during the day, change the night bandage immediately after waking up. Depending on the depth of the inflammation, it can take from 1 to 5 days to draw out the pus. After that, the wound must be washed with hydrogen peroxide and continue treatment with drying agents.
Other drugs
It is impossible to say unequivocally which ointment draws out pus better. "Ichthyol" and "Liniment balsamic" - the most common means,but the following drugs may be quite effective:
- "Sulfuric" - eliminates the infection on the skin in places where hair grows (for example, in the mustache area).
- "Synthomycin liniment" - draws out pus, including from chronic foci of inflammation, eliminates swelling and redness.
- "Ilon" - quickly relieves inflammation, improves local blood flow, promotes early maturation and opening of the abscess, can be used at any stage of a purulent lesion.
The resulting wound must be treated with an antiseptic (hydrogen peroxide, alcohol, etc.) and continue treatment with cleansing and drying ointments: Tetracycline, Bactroban, Baneocin, Levomekol, Levosin.
Folk remedy
In case of inflammatory processes on the skin, an ointment prepared independently according to a folk recipe will help draw out pus:
- take 100 g of quality butter (preferably homemade) and melt over low heat;
- add 25 g of grated wax, mix well until completely dissolved without boiling the mixture;
- chop 10–40 g of laundry soap and add to the mixture (the rougher the skin, the more this component);
- cool the ointment until it thickens.
Make sure product is warm during application. It is necessary to apply it to the inflamed area and cover with a bandage, which can be changed once a day or even less often, its effectiveness is not lost over time. After the maturation of the abscessdisinfect and dry the wound.
