The pancreas is quite an important human organ. It works to normalize the work of metabolic processes, as well as to produce insulin. Inflammation of the pancreas, or pancreatitis, is now a common disease that becomes chronic very quickly.
Basic treatment rules
Inflammation of the pancreas requires complex treatment. This is not only drug therapy, but also dieting. If the disease becomes chronic, then treatment is practically not amenable to treatment. Therefore, try to take proper measures at the first signs of inflammation:
- Quit alcohol and smoking. These two factors have a huge negative impact on the work of the pancreas.
- Remove fatty foods from your diet.
- Do not eat foods containing carcinogens, GMOs and dyes.
- Don't eat much. Meals should be fractional.
- Sometimes do fasting days.
Diet
If you have inflammation of the pancreasglands, the diet should be strict. It is especially important to monitor your diet during an exacerbation, when pancreatitis makes itself felt with severe pain, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. In this case, you need to refuse food for a day, but be sure to drink. The stomach must be freed from food debris in order to stop irritating the gland. If you are vomiting, then try to drink more mineral still water.
On the second day, it is allowed to drink some fresh kefir or fermented baked milk. Boil chicken broth, eat it with homemade croutons.
On the third day, drink dried fruit compote, rosehip decoctions. Make mashed potatoes with milk. And only after the seventh day you can include the same foods in the diet, just do it gradually, starting with light meals - lean beef, steam cutlets, boiled vegetables.
In chronic pancreatitis, this diet should be followed regularly.

When is medical attention needed?
At the first signs of pancreatitis, it is better to consult a doctor. He will do an ultrasound to determine the extent of the disease. If inflammation of the pancreas is detected, the specialist will prescribe enzymes that will help normalize the functioning of the organ. The course of treatment is about a month.
