Let's start with the fact that the nasal septum is a plate that separates the nasal cavity. One part of it consists of cartilaginous tissue, and the other is represented by a thin bone. - Compensatory curvature of the nasal septum occurs when foreign bodies, such as polyps, press on the cartilage.
- Mechanical deformation. It is usually provoked by all sorts of injuries. In men, this curvature occurs 3 times more often.
Curvature of the nasal septum: symptoms
Signs of pathology can be either pronounced or not expressed at all. It all depends on the degree of deformation of the plate. Correcting a deviated septum is only justified if it interferes with breathing. Among the main symptoms, experts call the following:
- Dryness in the nasal cavity.
- Difficulty breathing.
- Sleep snoring.
- In some cases partial hearing loss.
- Frequent diseases of adjacent organs: rhinitis, sinusitis, sinusitis.
- With a mechanical curvature, a change in the shape of the nose.
Treatment
As you can see, a deviated septum can lead to many unpleasant consequences. The operation, the price of which varies from 25 to 40 thousand rubles, is carried out only in 26% of cases. The prerequisites for its implementation are:

The second way is laser treatment. It has many limitations, but despite this it is used quite often. Its essence is that certain parts of the nasal plate are heated to the desired temperature and fixed with tampons in the correct position. The patient experiences almost no discomfort. The operation is often performed on an outpatient basis. This treatment is effective if the cartilage part is curved.
As a rule, within a week after the operation, all symptoms of the disease disappear and breathing is restored.
