Bacterial vaginosis is actually quite a common disease. It occurs at least once in a lifetime in about half of the beautiful ladies. Most often, it does not lead to the development of any complications, however, vaginal vaginosis is still capable of considerably complicating life and spoiling the mood of a woman. The thing is that this disease has very unpleasant symptoms. It is because of them that treatment should be started as early as possible.
Bacterial vaginosis develops when a woman changes the qualitative and quantitative composition of the usual vaginal microflora. Most often, this is observed when she has any hormonal changes, stress, her sexual partner has changed, or local and / or humoral immunity has decreased. The most favorable for the vagina are lactobacilli. If bacteroids, gardnerella, mycoplasma hominis or enterococci begin to predominate, then bacterial vaginosis develops. Its treatment will involve the restoration of the usualcomposition of the microflora of the vagina.
In many cases, this disease can even proceed without any symptoms. In other situations, bacterial vaginosis is manifested by the main triad of symptoms: characteristic discharge, burning, and itching. Allocations are the main and most unpleasant symptom. The smell is especially unpleasant, strongly reminiscent of spoiled fish and making it clear that a woman has developed bacterial vaginosis. Treatment is best started with the first symptoms. As for the other two characteristic signs of bacterial vaginosis - itching and burning, they are usually not very pronounced. However, their intensity may increase during intercourse, menstruation, or normal urination.
If there is a suspicion of vaginosis, treatment and diagnosis begin with taking a smear from the vagina (from its mucous membrane). Research is carried out by seeding. This allows you to determine which bacteria prevailed in the smear, and therefore in the vagina. In addition, a very common way to diagnose bacterial vaginosis is the so-called amide test. It consists in determining the presence of isonitrile in the vagina. It is worth noting that it is this substance that is responsible for the unpleasant smell of discharge. Another diagnostic method used to detect this pathology is pH-metry. The thing is that normally an acidic environment is observed in the vagina, and alkaline in bacterial vaginosis.
Fortreatment of this disease does not involve any emergency or overly complicated measures. Despite this, most women who have been diagnosed with vaginosis try to get treated as early as possible. This is due to the already mentioned unpleasant symptoms, to be more precise, the indestructible smell of discharge. The basis of the drug effect on this pathology is the use of antibacterial agents (selected depending on the results of the smear sowing), as well as eubiotics (lactobacterin and others).
