Richard Chase, the famous vampire from Sacramento, has been recognized as one of the most brutal killers in the world. Six of his victims were killed in the most perverted way, and the maniac himself consumed their blood, believing that this was the only way he could exist.
It was after the capture of this criminal that the term “disorganized serial killer” appeared in forensic science, which is distinguished by serious mental disorders and spontaneity of its actions. Richard himself was diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia, however, despite his mental disorder, he was sentenced to death.
Richard Trenton's childhood
Richard was born on May 23, 1950 in Santa Clara, California, USA. The child was quite late, but from an early age he suffered from his environment. The father drank and beat young Richard quite often, and the mother developed paranoia, because of which the family later broke up.
From the age of 10, like many would-be killers, Richard Trenton developed a craving for animal abuse. Thus, the child expressed his aggression on defenseless creatures, dismembered their bodies and even bit off their heads. Also, the teenager had a problem with incontinence for quite some time.urine, but the parents did not pay due attention to the problems of their son. The environment did not accept Richard and preferred to ignore his deviations, simply not to contact him, rather than treat him in special institutions.
Teen issues
Despite a rather pleasant appearance, the teenager's behavior repelled his peers. In high school, when opportunities to befriend girls arose, Richard realizes that he has serious potency problems. Because of this, as well as the tense atmosphere at home, he begins to use alcohol and drugs (marijuana, LSD) early.
Outwardly many liked Richard Chase. The photos that remained from the time of his youth prove that the guy was really cute. But this did not help him socialize.
Psychiatric hospitals in the life of a maniac
At the age of 18, when a problem with potency begins to seriously worry a young man, he turns to doctors on his own in order to find out the cause of his illness. No physical disorders were found, however, after talking with a psychiatrist, it turned out that sexual dysfunction was associated with the suppression of aggression. Later it will become known that Richard Trenton Chase could only get sexual arousal from dismembering bodies and eating the flesh of animals and people.
At 24, his condition is rapidly deteriorating. The desire to kill animals becomes more pronounced, and his disorders begin to frighten those around him. So, according to the patient, his blood turned into powder, and his heart stopped regularly. In order not to die, Richard decides that heit is necessary to use the blood of animals as food. He consumed the internal organs of rats, rabbits, cats, dogs and birds raw or ground them with a mixer.
He ends up in the hospital in an inadequate condition in search of the one who stole his pulmonary artery. The paramedics considered his behavior to be a drug overdose and sent him to the hospital. Then he once again enters the hospital after he decides to inject the blood of the rabbit he killed himself intravenously, according to the patient, the cause of his illness was that the animal drank acid from the battery to death. After research, Richard is diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia.
In a psychiatric hospital, doctor's advice doesn't help much, presumably due to long-term drug use. He escapes from the clinic, but in 1976 he ends up in the hospital for criminals "Beverly Maner".
In the same year, his mother takes him home from the clinic, who at that time had already divorced Richard's father. She believed that her husband wanted to poison her. In her opinion, the doctors also want to kill her son, so she soon forbids him to use prescribed medications.
Mother frankly ignores her son's abnormal behavior. She does not send him for treatment, but soon buys Richard a separate apartment, where he moves to live.
Individual life
Future serial killer Richard Chase never worked and received welfare. Since he starts living alone, he stops washing and taking care of himself.
Because of the belief that apart fromblood, nothing will help him, he stops eating and loses weight to 68 kg with a height of 180 cm. He kills animals in cold blood. Even though he directly admits to one of the owners that he ate his dog, because fresh blood is vital for his body, he is not sent for compulsory treatment.
At the same time, Richard is interested in the biography of the Hillside Strangler and is sure that they have similar fates: they are both victims of a Nazi and alien conspiracy.
In August 1977, police found Chase's car near Pyramid Lake, where they found a bucket of blood, beef liver, and two rifles. Later, they managed to detain Chase himself: naked, smeared in blood, running along the beach. He sure his blood oozes through his skin.
Six months later, Richard acquires a.22 caliber pistol with which he will kill 6 people in the future.
First victim
Chase liked to break into other people's houses. He had a clear position: "If the door is closed, no one is waiting for you there." At the end of December 1977, he comes to a strange house, where he shoots a woman in the kitchen. Runs away after a miss.
2 days later, December 29, kills a passerby. Richard was driving down the street where he saw 51-year-old Ambrose Griffin. The killer shoots directly from the window of his truck, 2 bullets hit the victim in the chest, Ambrose dies on the spot.
Richard killed a stranger not for any reason, but to test his strength. He admires the act and makes plans for the future. In the local newspaper, he finds a note about his crime and saves it onmemory. Then no one knew who Richard Trenton Chase was. The photo of this criminal did not appear in the media soon.

Chase demanded a cigarette from that one, but after that he did not let go of it until he had received the entire pack. According to the girl, he carried 3 dogs in his hands.

After he meets his former classmate Nancy Holden, who in the future will hand him over to law enforcement. She does not recognize her classmate in the guy, but Richard himself gives his first and last name. After a short and unpleasant conversation, Nancy leaves in her car.
Next, Richard breaks into the house of Robert and Barbara Edwards, but finding no one inside, he starts a mayhem. A young man steals money from spouses, defecates in a crib and urinates in a drawer of clothes. When Robert Edwards returns home, Richard is able to quickly escape.
After several failed attempts, assassin Richard Chase breaks into the home of David and Teresa Wallen. The hostess went out into the yard, and at that time the killer managed to get inside. When Teresa came back, Richard immediately shot her three times.
The maniac dragged the corpse of the pregnant mistress of the house into the bedroom, where he raped him. After the sexual intercourse was completed, Richard opened the victim's stomach, cut out part of the organs, collected the blood in a bucketand doused it in the bathroom. Going outside, found dog feces, came back and put it in dead Teresa's mouth.
On the same day, the police released the signs of the killer, based only on their assumptions and analysis of the crime. The media was concerned about this incident, but no one connected it with the death of Ambrose Griffin.
The last kills of a maniac
27 January Richard Chase continues his killing spree. Then four people became his victims: Evelina Mirot (38 years old), her son Jason (6 years old), her two-year-old nephew David Ferreire and their neighbor Dan Meredith. The latter was killed immediately when the maniac got into the house. After Chase went to the bathroom and killed Evelina there. He took the corpse of the hostess to the room, where he raped him, drank blood through the holes in the neck, dismembered.
Jason rose to the noise, after which he was killed. Richard then killed David as well, after which he ate part of his brain. The killer was frightened by a knock from the first floor, taking with him the corpse of a baby, he fled in the family car. Neighbors saw him leave that house and were able to describe the killer.
After the maniac perverted over the corpse of little David: he drank the baby's insides through a straw made from the child's penis.

When Richard left the house, he was stopped by the police on the way to the truck. He had a box with a.22 pistol and bloody wallpaper.
When searching the van and the maniac's apartment, the remains of the victims, their personal belongings, the calendar plan for future murders were found.
