For the treatment of most types and forms of hemorrhoids, it is enough to restrict diet, drugs and moderate exercise. Surgical intervention is recommended only in severe forms. About how modern treatment (sparing operation) of hemorrhoids with a laser or photocoagulation is carried out, as well as in what cases and to whom it is indicated, read below.
Indications
Surgery may be considered necessary when:
- lack of positive results after conservative treatment;
- disease progression;
- dropping knots with every bowel movement;
- reduced working capacity;
- thrombosis of hemorrhoids;
- excessive bleeding and the threat of anemia;
- rectal prolapse.
The last two factors usually become decisive, and in these cases immediate surgery is indicated. Hemorrhoids with complications can be avoided only in this case: with the loss of blood, not only anemia occurs, but also an immediate threat to life appears.
Laser surgery
Today there is a worthy alternative to surgical treatment. We are talking about laser coagulation. Treatment (usually more effective than traditional surgery) of hemorrhoids with a laser gives an excellent result not only in the presence of external cones and their thrombosis, but also in the nodes inside. What is the technique of the method? She is as simple as possible. The knots inside are burned out with a laser, and they are reduced. The wounds are tightening. External nodes are removed even faster - by clipping with the same beam. The operation takes place without bleeding, since the connective tissues are soldered immediately after circumcision. For those with truly resectable hemorrhoids, laser surgery may be the ideal solution.
Among the positive aspects are painlessness, the possibility of outpatient treatment (the operation takes up to 15 minutes), the absence of both special training and the recovery period, as well as blood loss (the beam immediately cauterizes the vessels). After such an intervention, no scars remain. In addition, the procedure can be carried out even in the presence of inflammatory processes and cracks. By the way, the laser eliminates this problem as well.
Along with such important advantages, of course, there are also disadvantages. Firstly, such treatment (sparing operation) of hemorrhoids is expensive. Secondly, it is completely impossible to remove large nodes, so relapses are not excluded.
When diagnosed with hemorrhoids, surgery (its price is from 8 to 50 thousand rubles) is prescribed by a doctor. The patient usually cannot independently decide on such an intervention, since there arealso contraindications (individual).
Similar method
Sometimes such a gentle operation is identified with photocoagulation. However, these are different manipulations, although they are aimed at solving the same problem. Rays are also used here, but already in the infrared spectrum, focused. They are served to the legs of hemorrhoids. The incoming heat stops the access of blood to the node, and the latter is soon rejected.
Important to know…
If your doctor diagnosed hemorrhoids, and then suddenly began to insist on urgent treatment, arguing that inflammation can turn into cancer, rest assured: this is not true. Hemorrhoids and cancer do have very similar symptoms. But if you have already been examined, then there is no reason to worry about this. And to suffer from constant discomfort or still improve the quality of your life, you will figure it out yourself. Remember that the last resort is surgery. Hemorrhoids can be avoided (with a he althy lifestyle), and its initial stages are treated without surgery.
