Acute cystitis is an acute inflammation of an infectious nature that affects the walls of the bladder. As a rule, women are most susceptible to this disease (usually from 20 to 40 years). Acute cystitis: symptoms
The main and main symptom of cystitis is a sharp pain during urination. But in addition to this symptom, the following may also occur:
- There is a burning sensation when urinating.
- Urine becomes dark and cloudy due to the presence of a large number of leukocytes, erythrocytes and various bacteria in it.
- Pain in the lower back or lower abdomen that does not subside even after urination and may radiate to the perineum and anus.
- Blood found in urine.
- Weakness of the whole organism.
- Fever, which may indicate that the inflammatory process has passed to the kidneys. Basically, this symptom is noted in children.
- False urge to urinate every 20-30 minutes.
- The occurrence of nausea and even vomiting.
Treatment
As a rule, acute cystitis with blood is treated at home. Hospitalize only those patients who have intractable pain or urinary retention. Absolutely everyone, regardless of where they are being treated, is prescribed bed rest at the very beginning of the disease. Also, patients should avoid sexual intercourse until the acute cystitis is completely cured.
Treatment of the disease with drugs is based on the use of antibiotics, which are usually prescribed before the test results are available, anddrugs that can relieve spasms that occur in the bladder (for example, drotaverine).
Despite the fact that after the start of treatment, many symptoms of acute cystitis disappear on the second day, it is necessary to take the prescribed medicines for as long as the doctor has prescribed. This is necessary to further avoid recurrence of the disease.
Patients with acute cystitis should pay attention to their diet. It is necessary to exclude alcohol, spicy and spicy dishes from the diet - in general, all those foods that cause irritation of the stomach and provoke constipation. But vegetables, fruits and dairy products can be consumed in large quantities, as they prevent the recurrence of inflammatory diseases. Also, when confirming the diagnosis of "acute cystitis", a warm drink is recommended (compote, a decoction of corn stigmas, lingonberry juice), which will help to quickly remove bacteria from the bladder.
