Avran is medicinal and at the same time poisonous. The plant is common in Europe, Siberia and Asia. It is also called apothecary, grace, fish grass, deer grass, horse tinder and bloodwort. The plant belongs to the Plantain family. Its root system is thin-shaped, the stem is 4-sided, which reaches a height of fifty centimeters. The flowers of this herb are whitish and yellowish, which grow on a long pedicel. The fruit is an ovoid capsule with seeds. It ripens by mid-summer. Seeds are brown and oblong.
Grass loves to grow in pits, swamps, meadows and waterways.
The plant blooms throughout the summer, loves light and partial shade. It is transplanted in the spring, fertilized with mineral and organic fertilizers. Avran officinalis propagates through seeds, division of roots and cuttings.
Heart Root
There are about 20 species of plants. However, only one is found in the latitudes of Russia, although in the Amur and Primorye there is also Japanese, which received a popular name: heart root or intestines, which means its scope. The use of the plant is justified by its composition, which includes glycosides, saponins and tannins. The former exhibit both beneficial and poisonous properties. There are also Ca, Mg, Fe, K.
