It is not advisable to treat chronic giardiasis with antiparasitic drugs - you can suffer from toxic-allergic complications and exacerbate symptoms. Treatment is carried out in three stages.
At the first stage, the treatment is 1-2 weeks and includes a diet that creates unfavorable conditions for the reproduction of the parasite. Choleretic drugs, enterosorbents are prescribed, enzyme therapy and antihistamines are prescribed.
At the second stage, drugs that kill protozoa are taken: Furazolidone, Trichopolum, Tiberal. Treatment with antihistamines should be continued.
At the third stage, conditions are created under which it is impossiblereproduction of bacteria.
