If the protection of the eye for some reason is reduced, the inflammatory process begins. Microbes penetrate the palpebral fissure, begin to actively multiply there, and, as a result, the eye of the newborn fester. This, as well as redness and swelling around the eyes, are symptoms of conjunctivitis.

If the swelling around the eyes is very strong, it is advisable to make a compress with cold water - this will relieve the swelling. If the inflammation is pronounced, you can resort to antibiotics (however, a doctor should prescribe them). The medicine should be instilled into the eye several times a day according to the instructions. Before instillation, pus should be carefully removed.
