Varicose veins are a serious problem for women and men. Statistics indicate the development of varicose veins in almost every second inhabitant of the planet.
Causes of varicose veins
Specialists call this disease the retribution of people for walking upright. Indeed, the veins of the lower extremities of a person are subject to much greater pressure than the limbs of animals. Do not forget about the influence on the appearance of varicose veins of heredity, disturbances in the work of the endocrine system and other conditions. Such a wide prevalence of the disease explains the variety of anti-varicose drugs available in pharmacies in each city.
Antithrombotic drugs
If in the time of Hippocrates the only treatment for varicose veins was surgery, or simply the removal of diseased veins, then today there is a wide choice of treatments and prevention of this disease. These are various capsules, tablets, drops, injections and other forms of drugs. Among them, not the last place is occupied by means for external use, which are one of the componentscomplex therapy of varicose veins. These are various ointments, creams and gels. Pharmacy windows are full of names of such drugs: Trombless, Lyoton, Hepatrombin, Dolobene, Aescusan, Reparil, Venastat and many others. You can go on listing for a long time. One of the most publicized and expensive means is Lyoton. Advertising is not deceitful. Gel "Lioton", the use of which really improves the condition of the legs and prevents the development of thrombophlebitis, is an effective tool in the prevention and control of varicose veins. Its effectiveness is explained by the substance that is part of the gel - heparin.
What is the basis of the action of heparin?
Heparin is an organic substance of animal origin, an anticoagulant, belongs to water-soluble glycosaminoglycans. This compound is found in the so-called mast cells of animal organisms, which secrete a variety of physiologically active substances (including heparin) to fight inflammation and allergens. Heparin got its name because of its high content in the liver. It prevents the formation of blood clots due to interaction with blood antithrombin. The latter, in combination with heparin, greatly enhances its inhibitory effect on blood clotting proteins (compounds that promote the formation of blood clots). Therefore, heparin is the main component of many antithrombotic drugs.
A worthy alternative to Lyoton
Impressed by promotionalcommercials, many prefer precisely those drugs and means that appear more often on the TV screen and in other media. The increased demand for similar products leaves in the shadow not so well-known similar products. Among the drugs for the treatment of varicose veins, Lyoton ointment is quite popular and expensive. Analogues, the price of which is much lower, also have a tangible effect. They are sold in every pharmacy. Such an analogue of "Lioton" as "Heparin-gel" is quite effective. Pay attention to the comparative table, which clearly shows the names of various antithrombotic drugs and their composition.
