Contraindications
There are a number of cases in which electrophoresis is not performed. The Elfor device, which patients' reviews confirm the effectiveness of its use, is not used in the following conditions:
- critical patient condition;
- infectious diseases in the acute stage;
- hyperthermia of uncertain nature;
- hemorrhagic syndrome;
- diseases of the heart and blood vessels in the stage of decompensation;

- tumor processes of a malignant nature;
- blood diseases;
- presence of a pacemaker;
- individualhypersensitivity to direct current.

During the procedure, the device maintains a digital indication and stabilization of the current strength, and upon termination of the manipulation, it smoothly reduces the level of current supply to zero and emits a signal about the end of the program.

Galvanization. A continuous current acts on the patient's body. The places of such influence can be a pathological focus, reflexogenic areas, and a special technique can also be used, characterized by the location of electrodes on the human body according to a certain, specific pattern.
Galvanic current can improve blood microcirculation, change the property of excitability of nervous tissue or muscle fibers in one direction or another, improve the condition of the skin and mucous membranes, reduce swelling, relieve pain, accelerate cell regeneration.
Medicinal electrophoresis. With the help of galvanic current, drugs are introduced into the human body. In this case, a combined action occurs that enhances the effectiveness of the procedures. The device for galvanization and electrophoresis "Elfor-Prof" sends drugs to the tissues of the body, bypassing the liver and gastrointestinal tract, and without shells, but immediately in molecular form.
Performing galvanization
In order for direct current to enter the necessary area of the body, electrodes and special pads 1.5-2 cm thick are used. The pads make the electrode larger in order to prevent its direct contact with the skin. Before applying pads, the specialist must make sure that there are no damages, scratches, abrasions, rashes on the skin.
Gaskets are moistened with warm running water, squeezed well and applied in the required area. Then they are fixed with rubber bandages or other elastic fabric.
The required current strength is set and the "START" button is pressed. The regulator is placed in a position in which the patient feels a pleasant slight burning sensation. The duration of the procedure is determined by the physiotherapist.
Performing electrophoresis
Water is used for the procedure, rarelyweak alcohol solutions of drugs. The agent is applied to a special gauze pad, which is placed under the hydrophilic one. The procedure is carried out in the same way as the galvanization process, but the duration of manipulation can be increased by a quarter.
The patient may also experience a slight pleasant tingling and burning sensation which is completely normal for galvanic current exposure.
Electrophoresis with "Karipain"
"Karipain" is a herbal enzymatic preparation. Its active substances improve joint mobility, promote rapid regeneration of cells and tissues. Indications for the use of the drug are osteochondrosis, the presence of intervertebral hernias, articular contractures, arthrosis, arthritis, keloid scars, tunnel syndrome.
Electrophoresis with "Karipain" allows the drug to penetrate deeper, which contributes to the rapid relief of symptoms and the patient's recovery. For the procedure, a dry balm is used. A physiotherapy room usually has not only paramedical staff, but also a physiotherapist. It is he who will prescribe the required number of procedures and technique for performing this or that disease of the musculoskeletal or nervous system.
Proceedings:
- The contents of the vial are diluted with 10 ml of saline and 4-5 drops of dimexide are added.
- Applied to the electrode gasket where the positively charged pole will be located.

Caring for the appliance
Medical equipment (specifically this device) is not subject to verification. Data are specified in GOST 8.513-84. During the care of "Elfor-Prof" (manufacturer "Nevoton"), the plug of the device must be disconnected from the socket.
Every six months, the components are inspected to determine the presence of external damage. Outdoor fixtures are treated with a solution (3% hydrogen peroxide + 0.5% cleaning solution), disinfection is carried out with a soft cloth moistenedin ethyl alcohol. Rubber electrodes are disinfected after each use.
