The main state institution in the Brest region in Belarus for the provision of medical services and urgent care is the Brest Regional Children's Hospital. The institution is equipped with modern equipment and offers young patients and their parents the treatment and diagnosis of a wide range of diseases (ENT, trauma, infectious diseases, neurology, and others)
History
The Brest Regional Children's Hospital is located at Kh alturina, 12. Highly qualified and specialized care is available in the institution for all children living in the region and Brest.
The history of the development of the children's hospital of the region begins in 1968, when, according to the order of the city he alth department, the children's department was closed as part of the regional hospital and a separate city institution for children was created. By the end of this year, a hospital and three departments were opened. 2 years later, another one was openedchildren's department. In 1975, the city hospital was renamed into the regional one. In 1983, a department for nursing premature babies was opened. The children's intensive care unit was opened in 1987. In 1989, a new hospital building was commissioned, consisting of 6 floors. Over the next seven years, the hospital continued to develop, new departments were opened: ENT, neurological, purulent surgery. In 2003 there was a branch of the advisory polyclinic on the basis of the hospital. The intensive care unit and operating units were carried out in 2006. In 2013, the renovation of the old hospital building, consisting of three floors, was completed.
Activities
At present, the Brest Regional Children's Hospital has a complex structure of subdivisions and departments of various profiles and specializations. Includes:
1. Emergency room.
2. Mobile resuscitation (advisory team).
3. 280-bed pediatric block:
- 1st Pediatrics (cardiac, rheumatological, nephrological and hematological diseases);
- 2nd pediatrics (pulmonological pathologies);
- 3rd Pediatrics (Infectious Diseases);
- 4th pediatrics (gastroenterology, endocrinology, allergy profile);
- 5th pediatrics (nursing premature babies);
- neurology.
4. Surgical unit with 157 beds:
- surgery;
- ENT Department;
- trauma department;
- injury center;
- anesthesiology and resuscitation;
- operblock.
5. Auxiliary units:
- laboratory;
- functional diagnostics;
- endoscopy;
- physiotherapy;
- exercise therapy;
- HBO cabinet (pressure chamber);

- radio and x-ray diagnostic rooms.
The hospital provides examinations and treats chronic diseases. If necessary, the institution has the ability to conduct complex examinations and operations. The provision of medical care is established at a high quality level and is available to the entire children's population of the region.
