The human body can not always work perfectly. The reasons for this may be very different. In this article I want to talk about what is intoxication of the body. Signs, symptoms and ways to get rid of the problem - this will be discussed later.
What is this?
At the very beginning, you need to understand the concepts that are used in this article. So, general intoxication of the body is a painful condition in which the human body is affected by harmful substances of an endogenous nature or exogenous toxins.
Causes of occurrence
Why can there be intoxication of the body? Symptoms of this problem may be due to the following reasons:
- External environment. This is the most common cause of intoxication of the body. In this case, you can get poisoned by chemicals, heavy metals, poisons of plants, animals, decay products of living microorganisms, low-quality products, as well as drugs (in case of overdose).
- Endogenous intoxication of the body can occur in the case ofviolation of the integrity of human tissues. So, this can occur as a result of burns, injuries, radiation injuries.
- The body can be affected by toxins in the event of its own failure. Example: with kidney failure, uremic intoxication is possible, or a metabolic disorder.
About types of toxemia
It should also be said that depending on the course, intoxication is different:
- Spicy. With this toxemia, a large amount of toxin enters the human body. In this case, the body requires urgent detoxification. It is best if all manipulations are carried out under the supervision of a doctor. The main symptoms in this case: high fever, vomiting, diarrhea, pain (articular, muscle, headache), loss of consciousness is possible.
- Subacute. It replaces the previous stage. This is the period of subsidence of acute toxemia. However, the body also requires detoxification. The main symptoms: body temperature - subfebrile, moderate pain, malfunctions of the gastrointestinal tract, fatigue, drowsiness, body aches.
- Chronic intoxication of the body. Most often it is the result of neglect of an acute form of toxemia.
A little about chronic toxemia
In addition to the above, chronic intoxication of the body can also develop due to the following reasons:
- Living in an ecologically unfavorable polluted region.
- Constant useeating low-quality or low-quality food.
- Use of poor quality personal care products, as well as other household chemicals: powders, detergents, etc.
The symptoms of chronic intoxication are as follows:
- Permanent feeling of weakness, poor performance.
- Chronic nervousness (the nervous system primarily reacts to all toxins that enter the body).
- Frequent headaches.
- Sleep disturbance.
- Decreased immunity.
- Occurrence of an unpleasant smell from the body, from the mouth.
- Change in body weight.
- Problems with the work of the gastrointestinal tract: flatulence, diarrhea, constipation.
- Allergic reactions, skin rashes.
- Early signs of body aging: skin laxity, loss of elasticity, dull hair, brittle nails, etc.
It should be said that this list is not complete. After all, each person can have so-called "own" signs of chronic intoxication.
Alcohol intoxication
It is worth mentioning that most people intoxicate the body with alcohol. What is it? So, alcohol intoxication is a special psychological state of a person, which is caused by excessive accumulation of ethanol in the body, i.e. alcohol. However, it should be said that during alcohol intoxication, not only the consciousness of a person changes, but also the work of his organs is disrupted. IntoxicationThe body of alcohol has the following symptoms:
- Headache. When taking alcohol, the vessels dilate too quickly, which causes discomfort.
- Nausea, vomiting. Occurs due to the ingestion of ethanol. This element begins to immediately affect the cerebellum, which is responsible for balance. The body, in turn, receives the task of getting rid of the poisonous substance that negatively affects the body.
- Dizziness. It occurs as a result of a malfunction of the cerebellum.
- Intense thirst. Occurs immediately after drinking alcohol. This happens because the level of antidiuretic hormone, which is responsible for the excretion of urine by the body, drops sharply in the body.
Important: even a small dose of alcohol can cause intoxication of the body. This can happen if low quality alcohol was consumed, or if the drink was consumed by children or teenagers.
Food intoxication
A person can also have food intoxication of the body. The signs in this case will be as follows:
- Increased body temperature.
- Vomiting, nausea.
- Possible diarrhea, other disorders of the gastrointestinal tract.
- Chills.
- Lethargy, weakness, feeling worse.
The first symptoms most often appear two hours after eating poor quality food.
Drug intoxication
A person can also havedrug intoxication. The symptoms in this case will depend on the medication that poisoned the person.
- Aspirin preparation. Sharp headaches, nausea, vomiting, loose stools. In some cases, there may be shortness of breath, an increase in heart rate, a decrease in pressure. Sometimes pressure may drop.
- "Heart" drugs. If the patient has drug intoxication of the body, the symptoms may be as follows: diarrhea, vomiting, nausea, abdominal pain. Headache may occur. Also, often in such people the pulse slows down, the heart rhythm is disturbed, in some cases, cardiac arrest is possible. Elderly people may experience delirium, a brain disorder.
- Poisoning with sulfonamides (for example, the drug "Norsulfazol" or "Sulfadimezin"). May be accompanied by renal colic, acute pain, lack of urination. There may also be vomiting, nausea, various allergic reactions.
If a person has drug intoxication, the symptoms can be very different. So, for example, in one case there may be increased salivation, and in another case there may be dry mouth. However, it should be said that with such poisoning, the appearance of a person often changes (redness on the skin, pallor, irritation), and a reaction from the nervous system or the brain is also possible.
About children
Intoxication of a child's body is a more dangerous phenomenon than in adults. The thing is that the baby's body will be poisonedcan faster and stronger than it happens with an adult. Symptoms in children are the same as in adults. However, it starts to appear earlier. Also, the symptoms are often more pronounced. In the case of poisoning the baby with toxins, you should immediately seek medical help. After all, timely diagnosis and proper treatment can be vital for a baby.
Treatment
Be sure to also figure out how to deal with intoxication of the body. What will be relevant in this case?
- First of all, it is necessary to eliminate the cause and remove the main symptoms. Otherwise, intoxication can become chronic. In this case, washing the stomach, intestines, taking drugs to stop diarrhea will be relevant.
- Reception of sorbents. In this case, doctors prescribe drugs such as Enterosgel, Sorbex or Activated Charcoal.
- Enzyme preparations will also be relevant. In this case, doctors may prescribe medications such as Festal, Pancreatin.
- You can also use special bacterial preparations that help restore the microflora of the intestines and stomach. In this case, you can take the drugs "Lactobacterin", "Bifidumbacterin".
- Sometimes doctors feel the need to prescribe diuretics and liver cleansers.
- Antioxidant intake is also important. These are preparations "Nicotinic acid", "Benzoicacid", "Selenium", "Lecithin".
- Vitamin therapy is also important.
But, nevertheless, I would like to say that it is best to tell about how to remove the intoxication of the body, doctor. So at the first symptoms of poisoning of the body, you need to seek medical help.
