Pimples on the face of a newborn may appear due to such a common disease as chicken pox. It usually proceeds without complications. Chickenpox in the first days is accompanied by fever, body temperature sometimes reaches 40 degrees, the child is weakened. Red pimples on the face of the newborn, as well as on his body, appear 2-3 days after the fever. They gradually form bubbles filled with a clear liquid, which should never be squeezed out or torn off. Chickenpox can be contracted through airborne droplets through contact with a sick person or through scratches.

Another viral disease transmitted in a similar way, which is also characterized by pimples on the face of a newborn, is rubella. Infected children are active carriers of the virus for seven days before and after the onset of the rash. Nowadays, obligatory vaccination against rubella is carried out: the first - at 13-14 months, and the second - at 10 years. The rash first appears behind the ears and on the forehead, and then moves to the chest and covers the entire body. Small red dots gradually connect and form a large reddened area of the skin. This happens about 3 days after the discovery of the first pimples. Rubella is also accompanied by swollen glands at the back of the head, behind the ears, and in the neck. Fever is common.

Pimples on the face of a newborn can also be caused by such a rare disease today as scarlet fever. This disease is dangerous, especially since there is no effective vaccine against it. The disease is transmitted by airborne droplets or through contact with infected people. Often the cause of scarlet fever is a common sore throat caused by streptococcus. The first symptoms appear 15-25 days after infection. They can be a sore throat, reddened tonsils, fever (up to 40 degrees), furred tongue (with a white coating). Sometimes accompanied by headaches, stomach pain and vomiting. On the 2-3 day after the onset of the fever, small red pimples the size of a pinhead appear on the skin of the child - the first characteristic symptom of scarlet fever. The rash feels like velvet and can be itchy. Gradually, the skin becomesfiery red color. Antibiotics are used for treatment. The child needs to complete the full course of treatment (usually within 10 days), even if he looks he althy after a week. This is due to the fact that scarlet fever causes serious complications if left untreated.
