Regional Hospital No. 2 (Cherepovets) is the largest medical and preventive institution in the city, which provides professional medical assistance not only to the residents of Cherepovets, but to everyone living in the North-Western region of the Vologda Oblast.
General information
Vologda Regional Hospital No. 2 (Cherepovets) – annually treats about 25,000 patients, and 10,000 of them undergo surgical interventions.
The total capacity of the hospital is designed for the simultaneous treatment of almost 800 patients, but, unfortunately, this number is not always enough. At the moment, the hospital is actively developing the so-called "one-day surgery", which will significantly relieve the wards and provide assistance to more patients.
Regional hospital No. 2 (Cherepovets) accepts not only residents of Cherepovets and the region, but also patients from Sheksninsky, Kaduysky, Belozersky, Ustyuzhensky, Babaevsky and Chagodoshchensky districts, located in the northwestern part of the Vologda region.
The Regional Hospital provides the following services to its patients:
1. Stationary.
2. Outpatient treatment and consultations with specialists.
3. Performing diagnostics.
In addition, Regional Hospital No. 2 (Cherepovets) is the only medical institution in the entire northwestern part of the region that provides care to patients with cancer.
History
Regional Hospital No. 2 (Cherepovets) is the oldest hospital in the city, its history began in the 30th year of the last century. The first building built on the banks of the Sheksna is a surgical complex that was designed for 185 people.
The regional hospital made an invaluable contribution during the war, when a sorting and evacuation complex was deployed in the building. In addition, exhausted blockade survivors from Leningrad were transferred along the Road of Life to Cherepovets, who were given assistance in the hospital and put back on their feet.
In the post-war period, active construction of a metallurgical plant began in Cherepovets, the population of the city began to grow. The need arose for the construction of a new hospital complex, which was achieved with great difficulty.
In 2013, the hospital received the status of a regional hospital and a new name - Regional Hospital No. 2 (Cherepovets).
Modernity
Most recently, the hospital celebrated its eighty-fifth anniversary - and this,Agree, a significant number. During this time, a lot has happened: new buildings have been built, modern equipment has appeared, with which you can treat a variety of diseases.
Only the professionalism of the medical staff, who always try to help the patient and put him on his feet, has remained unchanged. Thus, in 2015 alone, the specialists of the regional hospital mastered twenty-five new methods for diagnosing and subsequent treatment of diseases.
