What are chondroprotectors?
These are drugs that allow you to restore cartilage tissue, provide it with nutrition and prevent it from breaking down. They have a very long duration of exposure, so the results are noticeable only after six months of use. As a rule, they are all quite expensive.
When are these funds assigned?
Chondroprotectors (Dona drug, its analogues) are prescribed for the treatment of all diseases affecting cartilage, for example, with arthrosis, periarthritis, arthritis, spondylosis and osteochondrosis, joint injuries, degenerative changes in cartilage tissues, periodontal disease, after surgery on the joints. However, all of them (drugs) are able to cure only in the early stages of the disease. When cartilage can no longer be restored, they are useless.
Classification
All chondroprotective drugs can bedivided according to two criteria: by generations, that is, by the time the application began, or by composition. The second classification is much clearer and clearer.
- Products containing chondroitinsulfuric acid. These are the drugs Mukosat, Chondroxide, Khonsurid, Artron Chondrex, Chondrolon.
- Drugs from the bone marrow and cartilage tissue of animals and fish. These include Alflutop and Rumalon.
- Means "Arteparon" and others with mucopolysaccharides in the composition.
- Preparation "Don". Its analogue is the drug "Artron Flex" and other formulations with glucosamine.
- Means of complex influence and composition. These are the famous Teraflex capsules, as well as the Artron Complex and Formula-C preparations.
- The drug "Artrodar", which has not only an effect on cartilage tissue, but also an anti-inflammatory effect.
Contraindications for all chondroprotectors
All drugs of this series should not be used during pregnancy and during the subsequent period of breastfeeding. The second obstacle is an allergy to any components of drugs. In addition, chondroprotectors are prescribed with considerable caution if the patient has problems with the digestive system. Most drugs can be purchased at pharmacies without a prescription, but you cannot choose them yourself, you must consult a doctor.
Don's medicine
A well-known and often prescribed remedy for the treatment of joints is the drug "Dona". Its analogues are cheaper, this drug itself costs more than twothousand rubles per course (these are forty bags). It has an anti-inflammatory effect, regenerates cartilage tissue. It is produced in the form of a powder, which is dissolved in water and taken half an hour before a meal, or in ampoules (injected every other day). They need to be treated for up to six weeks.
Means "Teraflex"
It has a rather famous analogue of "Don" - the medicine "Teraflex". It is prescribed for arthrosis, injuries, osteochondrosis, it is not indicated for people suffering from phenylketonuria. Take two capsules three times a day after meals, washed down with water. They need to be treated for at least three weeks (this period can be extended by the decision of the doctor). It is slightly cheaper, costs about 1700 rubles.
Structum drug
If the Dona remedy is prescribed, its analogues can also be taken, they are much more budgetary in price. This, for example, the drug "Struktum", used for all the same osteochondrosis and arthrosis. True, he has more contraindications: fragility of blood vessels, a tendency to bleeding, thrombophlebitis, age up to fifteen years.
Medication "Artra"
This is perhaps one of the most effective drugs of this series. It is used for the same diseases as the "Don" remedy. Its analogues, however, like the medicine "Artra", are characterized by more serious contraindications. In this case, these are kidney problems, diabetes, asthma, childhood and vascular fragility. Accepted no longer than six months.
Natural chondroprotector
This is Alflutop. Unlike the drug"Don", analogues, the price of which fluctuates around one and a half thousand, are still more accessible to the general population. The medicine "Alflutop" in ampoules costs 1600 rubles. It is an extract from several types of marine fish, has a positive effect on the metabolism in cartilage, and suppresses inflammatory processes. Prescribed for periarthritis, trauma, spondylosis, arthrosis, osteochondrosis, during recovery after surgery.
