Blisters on the skin can vary in size and type. Large ones are called bullae, small ones (the most common ones) are called vesicles. There are many reasons for the appearance of bubbles. Consider the main ones.
Insect bites
They are usually small bubbles, the size of a nail head. Sometimes (for example, with a midge bite), irritation (most often redness) and swelling appear. It's not hard to deal with the problem. In most cases, lubrication of the affected area with table vinegar or garlic juice helps. If you are allergic to stings, you will need to consult a doctor.
Herpes virus
Also appears as a bubble (or several at once). There are two types of herpes - I and II types. The first of them settles in the body forever and "wakes up" when immunity decreases.
The first kind usually appears at the mouth, on the lips, under the nose. There are, however, ointments that slightly accelerate healing (Vivorax, Acyclovir, Zovirax, Acyclovir-Akri, Acyclovir-Geksal, Acyclostad). However, remember that these drugs do not cure. According toAccording to statistics, 95% of the world's population is infected with common herpes ("cold"). If it manifested itself in you once, then it will definitely “backfire” again.
The second type of herpes (another name is genital) is most often manifested by rashes on the penis, labia (at the entrance to the vagina). It is transmitted through sexual contact (of all kinds). People are contagious not only with pronounced signs of the disease, but also those who are asymptomatic. A pregnant woman can also transmit the infection to her fetus. The incubation period is extended (usually up to a month).
With primary herpes, patients feel burning, swelling, and sometimes pain at the location of the virus. There may be general malaise and painful urination. Then small bubbles appear on the skin, filled with liquid, which soon burst (wounds form). Healing can take up to two weeks. With a relapse, the ailments are less pronounced, the bubbles on the skin pour out in a smaller volume, healing is faster. Re-manifestation is promoted by stress, hypothermia, diseases. There are no drugs for a complete cure yet.
Chickenpox
The disease is considered to be childhood, because it is rarely observed in adults. However, it is impossible to exclude the possibility of infection after 15-18 years. I must say that adults suffer infection with this type of virus (Varicella-zoster) very hard, even deaths are possible. The disease is transmitted with ease, even without personal contact. It is enough to stay in one room (car, bus, etc.). The incubation period is up to three weeks. At this time, it is already possible to infect others. There is depression, chills, headache.
In children, the disease can occur even without an increase in temperature (in adults, it sometimes rises above forty degrees). Characteristic signs are vesicles on the skin (small, filled with liquid) throughout the body, at first single, then in large numbers. Immediately after the appearance, they are very itchy. Bubbles on the skin soon burst, the places of ruptures become covered with crusts. After their independent falling away, the patient can be considered non-infectious. Treatment is usually symptomatic: taking antipyretic and immuno-strengthening drugs. Bed mode. The linen is ironed. Bubbles on the skin are lubricated with brilliant green or a strong solution of potassium permanganate (potassium permanganate), iodine. Relapses are rare but not excluded.
Shingles
Occurs after chickenpox (not always) in adults. The causative agent of the disease is the same. Children who come into contact with the carrier, on the contrary, develop chickenpox. Skin manifestation is preceded by neuralgic pain (in the future place of manifestation), itching, tingling, fever. Soon there is swelling with the formation of a group of nodules (often paired) filled with fluid. Local lymph nodes increase, pain intensifies. After a week (approximately) the bubbles on the skin dry up. The resulting crusts fall off, leaving pigmented spots. The course of uncomplicated disease lasts about 3 weeks.
Shingles affects not only the skin, but also the nervous system. The pain may persist for several months. For treatment, indifferent powders, aniline paints (in the form of local alcohol solutions), zinc paste, painkillers and antiviral drugs, vitamins, ultraviolet irradiation are recommended.
In addition, blisters on the skin can indicate other diseases:
- pemphigus (any of three types);
- burns;
- bullous pemphigoid;
- eczema;
- Dühring's dermatitis;
- epidermolysis (bullous);
- allergy.
