An insidious and often asymptomatic disease is liver hemangioma. This disease is found in about 7% of he althy people, and, oddly enough, more often hemangioma of the liver is diagnosed in women.
In fact, this is a tumor formation, but it never develops into cancer. Hemangioma of the liver, the causes of which cannot always be detected, is mostly small (3-4 cm), but sometimes the tumor can reach up to 10 cm, which is life-threatening.
Varieties
In medicine, there are two types of such tumors. The first - cavernous hemangioma of the liver - is characterized by its location inside the organ. In its form, the formation resembles a ball of blood vessels. Many doctors today argue that this type is not a tumor at all, but rather a pathology. According to them, the disease is inherited. Capillary hemangioma - the second type - often occurs due to changes in hormonal levels, inin particular due to pregnancy or taking drugs containing estrogens. This formation looks like curves from vessels that are separated by partitions.
How does it manifest?
As mentioned above, hemangioma of the liver does not let you know about itself for a long time. When the size of the tumor increases significantly, the patient often feels:
- dull pain on right side;
- feeling of tightness in the abdomen;
- nausea.
Sometimes there is vomiting, and on examination there is a clear enlargement of the liver.
Quite rarely, but still there are situations when a liver hemangioma ruptures. This is very life-threatening, because internal bleeding begins. The pain becomes sharp. In this case, all the same symptoms appear as with internal bleeding.
Diagnosing
Among the diagnostic methods, ultrasound is most often used. More modern equipment allows you to get more information about the state of education, about its size. This applies in particular to such methods as magnetic resonance imaging, angiography. Also, the patient must donate blood and urine for analysis. A biopsy is not performed when a hemangioma is detected, as it may rupture.
Treatment with traditional methods
Traditional medicine offers two ways of treatment. The first is a non-surgical method and is based mainly on the use of hormonal drugs. It is also possible to treatlaser technologies, microwave radiation, electrocoagulation, cryodestruction, liquid nitrogen. The second way concerns surgical intervention. An operation is performed in cases where the hemangioma reaches 5 cm or more, or when the symptoms begin to bother the patient. It is necessary to refuse surgical intervention in cases when:
- tumor occupies both lobes of the liver;
- cirrhosis detected;
- neoplasm affects large veins.
Folk methods
Traditional medicine suggests the use of nature's products. So, a decoction of oats has proven itself well. It takes a long time to cook cereals. But after the liquid is ready, it must be filtered, diluted with water and taken daily, at least 100-150 ml. Linden tea, which successfully fights viruses and colds, will also help to overcome liver tumors. Eating raw potatoes will also help. But you need to start with a small amount, for example, from 20-25
