Acute salpingo-oophoritis is a gynecological disease that affects the fallopian tubes and ovaries. In the event that rational timely treatment is not carried out, the pathological process may become chronic, which in the future can lead to woman's infertility.
Causes

This prevents the passage of the egg, as a result of which the woman develops infertility. Often there are areas of the fallopian tube delimited by adhesions. They gradually accumulate water. In this case, they talk about the development of hydrosalpinx. If an infection gets into such a limited space, then over time pus accumulates there and a pyosalpinx is formed.
Treatment
This gynecological disease should be treated as early as possible. This is due to the fact that it tends to become chronic. Antibacterial therapy is the basis for the treatment of acute salpingo-oophoritis. Initially, broad-spectrum drugs (cephalosporins, aminoglycosides, semi-synthetic penicillins) are prescribed. After it is established which pathogenic microorganism penetrated, thisgynecological disease, antibiotics are selected taking into account the sensitivity of the detected infection to them. It is also often necessary to use proteolytic enzymes. They are necessary in order to prevent the appearance of adhesions. In the event that they are not used, this can lead to infertility even when the pathogen is completely removed from the fallopian tubes and ovaries. Only complete and rational treatment can prevent the development of complications.
